We offer a variety of training and workshops for various health and social service providers, including but not limited to community-based HIV service organization staff, public health units, sexual health nurses, physicians, and people working in mental health and substance use service settings.

Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize health disparities and intersectional needs of 2SGBTQ+
  • Distinguish and examine values, attitudes, and beliefs in counselling
  • Explain harm reduction practice for 2SGBTQ+ who PnP
  • Demonstrate culturally competent health care and social services

The training is for mental health counsellors, harm reduction staff, health care and social service providers. It is 2 hours in duration.

Please note that the Introduction to Party and Play/Chemsex (non-CME) training is a prerequisite for this training.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe PnP and populations that are disproportionately impacted
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the biopsychosocial context of PnP in the MSM community
  • Practice a harm reduction approach to substance use in the context of sex
  • Develop competencies in cultural humility, cultural safety, and clinical care

 

This training is intended for front-line providers, sexual health educators and people working in harm reduction and community service organizations. This training is a prerequisite for all training on PnP offered by GMSH. The total length of training is 2.5 hours.
