Understanding drug, set, and setting

When we discuss drug sets and settings, we explore the experiences of drug use and the risks involved with different drug use. What are the pharmacology and pharmacokinetics of the drug? Pharmacokinetics of a drug involves four stages: absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) from the body. In this video, we learn of the various ways different drugs, for example, cocaine and meth, are absorbed. How does it affect heart rate, breathing, cost of the drugs and usage, and the difference between legal and illegal drugs? In addition, body mass impacts the body’s ADME and social determinants of health and the context of drug use.
